Shotokan Karate Club win nine medals

The Tobago Shotokan Karate Club gave a good showing at the TKA Open National tournament hosted at the St Mary's College, Port-of-Spain on March 17. They returned home with nine medals, three gold, three silver and three bronze.

They were led by triple gold medal winner, Riekie Mangroo who was also a member of the junior Kata team that won the 8-12 Team Kata category. The other members were Kobe Joseph and Milton Murray.

Mangroo also won a silver medal with the junior kata advanced team in the 10-12 category that included Joseph and Terrel Taylor. Joseph also won a silver in the 10-11 Kumite category and 10-11 Kata category.

The bronze medallists were Aklekl Thomas, 8-9 male Kata category, Leo Grant and Keron Davidson, 18-35 category.
