Paradise Women return

Paradise Hockey Club made a return to the national opening of the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board 2012 season after a three year hiatus.

The Club participated in themarch past parade and opening knock-out but was not successful in any of the events.

The Championship Women which was withdrawn from the tournament last year after two games because they were definitely out of depth is making a return this year.

However, the team that will include mostly youth players with a sprinkling of experience players may definitely be out of depth again, but this time there is a reason for utilising the youth players in the Championship team.

According to an official of the Club, they are hoping that the young players' development will be fast forward by playing against vastly superior and experienced opponents and this should assist in at least two or three of the player's earning selection for the National Under 21 team.

The National Under21 team will be playing in the Pan American Under 21 Hockey Championships in Mexico in September.

The Club will field four teams this year, though the Club's head coach JoyanneYeates-Prescod and her technical staff is struggling in their drive to keep the senior members interested and recruit new players.
