Paradise Hockey Club win two out of two gamesParadise Hockey Club rebounded from their disastrous start in the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Federation League Championship tournament when they lost all five games played on March 3 to win the two games they played last Saturday. The Trinity men team scored a hard-fought but well-deserved 2-1 victory against Carib while the Under 19 boys edged their Carib counterparts 1-0. In the Trinity Division match Paradise opened their account midway in the first half courtesy a Christon Harrypersad goal but Carib got the equaliser five minutes before the end of the half for the teams to share the honours in the first half. On the resumption, Paradise pressed for the winner though they had some anxious moments from some very effective counter-attacks by their opponents though they could not finish. However, Harrypersad again found the back of the net and his goal turned out to be the winner. An early first half goal from Paradise's Omari Brathwaite from a well-taken short corner that Brathwaite smashed into the back of the net was the deciding factor in their game against Carib. Three of Paradise Hockey Club five teams will be in action at the Dwight Yorke Stadium Training Ground tomorrow (Saturday). The Championship and Trinity men teams will engage their Petrotrin counterparts while the Championship women will entertain Checkers. |
