Davies House led by their Victor Ludorum, Franklyn Stanisclaus now boast the honour of breaking Bowles dominance of the Bishop's High School(BHS) sports meeting that they have won for the last decade.
However, the new champions had to battle all the way for the title that was one of the most keenly contested affairs in years.
Just five points separated the champions from the first runners-up Bowles that battled fiercely to retain their title , but in the end Davies 2103 points was enough to give them the title.
Davies set the tone for their assault on the title when they won the very colourful and enjoyable march past that signalled the start of the final day of the four-stage sports meeting. On the track, in his first outing for 2012, 2010 double CARIFTA champion, Mark London won four gold medals courtesy victories in the 400, 800 and 1500m races and then he teamed up with the trio of Shornell Thomas, Anton Phillips and Che Diaz for gold in the 4x400m relay.
In sweltering heat on a hard Dwight Yorke Stadium Mondo track, London returned times of 4:23 (1500m), 2:15 (800m) and 51.90 (400m). Stephon Revero was second to Mark in both the 800m (2:20:94) and 1500m (4:32) races.
Haysean Cowie-Clarke did a sprint double in his first year as a Bishop's High School student. The Scarborough Secondary former student won the boys Under 20 100m for Reid in 10.59. Kareem Romeo and Ayinde Thomas of Bowles were second and third respectively. Haysean returned later to win 200m in 22.41.
Another impressive performance was a 1.65m clearance in the boys Under 17 high jump by Bowles' Edson Moses. The tall, slender built athlete had a comfortable clearance at the distance before he ended his competition because of spike problems.. Moses later tested his speed on the track when he won the 400m in 57.00. Natesha Radgman of Bowles ran strongly to capture both the girls Under 17 1500m (6:25) and 400m (1:07.91) titles.
Franklyn Stanisclaus, the man who is expected to fill Mark's boots, completed a rare sprint triple. He took the boys Under 14 100m in 11.81, 200m in 26.37 and the 400m in 1:00:81. Another triple crown went to Rayshon Alleyne of Davies, also in the boys Under 14 400M, 800m and 1500m. He was made to work for the 800m glory though, as he was led by Elje Thomas for most of the race until he overtook him on the home straight. Alleyne clocked 2:45:07 to Thomas' 2:49:28.
Akanni Hislop won the Under 15 sprint double when he stopped the clock in 11.44 seconds and returned to take the 200m in 23.30. Trishelle Leacock of Bowles also completed the sprint double when she won the girls Under 17 100m in 12.94 and the 200m in 29.00 that pilot her to the Victrix Ludorum title.
A day earlier in the field events at the Bishop's High School ground, 2011 CARIFTA Under 17 discus champion Shervorne Worrell won the boys Under 20 shot put in 12.90m, but lost out in the discus to Davies Omundez Loyuk.
Kareem Romeo won the boys Under 20 long jump competition with a last round 6.10m leap. Romeo overtook Haysean Cowie Clarke's 5.87m in the process.

Keep up the good work Davies! I was also part of the Davies Team that won the title in 1990 after a long 22 years.
