Cricket Festival at Mason HallThe group Reciprocating Mason Hallians (R.M.H.) will stage its first annual Cricket Festival on Easter Monday, April 9, at the Mason Hall Recreation Ground starting at 9:00 a.m. Group spokesperson, Bill Browne, explained that the occasion is aimed at fostering social integration and mentoring the youths of not only Mason Hall but Moriah and Des Vignes Road as well. "We expect a fantastic day of cricket, featuring past, present and future cricketers of the areas, explained Browne. "Even the women will be on show as we are inviting female cricketers from anywhere in Tobago to participate," he said. The Under 12's as well as the women will feature in fifteen- overs games while the men will compete in 30- overs encounters. Several past outstanding sports persons from the community will be honoured on the occasion. They are Carl Dennis (football), Hamlet Nedd (football & cricket), Brian Springer (cricket) and Earlene Crooks-Nedd (netball). All are invited to participate in the disciplines of draughts, dominoes, table tennis and all fours as well as free eats and drinks for all participants and supporters. |
