Preserving Charlotteville!

THE EDITOR: As a visitor to Charlotteville from England this month, I just want to say I am horrified by the proposals to replace the existing shops with a glass and steel monstrosity.

Charlotteville beachfront is a beautiful and charming place, it has real character and warmth.

If I had been driving on the road and looked down to see the bay and seen a glass and steel mall I would have kept on driving, I can tell you. That type of modern soul-less construction can be seen anywhere.

Charlotteville is unique and amazing, please make sure it stays that way. I'll be following the progress. Good luck to those trying to preserve it.

I just had a good laugh re blog that states tobagans treat people in a polite manner, are you a complete idiot, what about the cutlass weilding good citizens, who atacked the olsens , Mr Taut and lets not forget the dreadfull maiming of the bacolet seniors , tell me what charm scholl did they graduate from? you can coat every thing with honey , but poison is still poison, help solve these crimes, put energy into helping , not gloss over your dreadful barbaric treatment of expats and visitors, tobago will remain plaqued by these accusations until some resolution and solving of these anamalistic attacks, wake up , reveal your killers you no who they are, to them I send my message, your country will sink deeper into the sewer, until you are found, forgive NEVER

Citylimer, yesterday while reading the on-line international news, there was an article published by the UN which essentially said that runaway and uncontrolled crime and criminality are ravaging the economies of all caribbean and contiguous nations with the exception of Barbados and Suriname. My concern is this wasn't published by a particular nation, say, the US,Canada or UK which might have had an ax to grind.I know that Trinidad&Tobago rightfully is and should be treated as one nation but how does Tobago stack-up here?Though you might not have accessed this article, nevertheless, what's your take?My concern is that this is international news and as I understand it,most international tourists to Tobago are Brits,Europeans and Canadians, therefore articles such as these mightn't bode well for Tobago's infant and fragile tourism industry, especially at such a critical time.

Anonymous and Humpty are twins and they are next door neighbours living in space. Who perhaps never took a chip in band to sweet music or went to a PANORAMA OR A CALYPSO FIESTA where thousands of people enjoy themselves and seeing tourist wining on a ---see and vowing to come back again. Generally we are loving people who respect people of different cultures and races which is unlike some other countries. Tobago is not what Humpty and Anonymous (H & A)may want the world to think. Come one come all you are welcome even H & A OR HATERS. If you DISRESPECT Tobagonians you will be dealt with in the most diplomatic way which will may you find your manners which may HAVE been temporarily lost.

Humpty - is the same Humpty Dumpty who sat on a wall and who had a great fall and not even the king's horses nor the king's men could put Humpty Dumpty together again. Humpty Dumpty is now smithereens. He was destroyed by his own warped mind which resulted in psychosis. Humpty lives in the sky some where around jupiter or mars where there is no crime other than asteroids hurling in great numbers left right and centre. I could see Humpty dodging and weaving trying to catch the next space ship heading for Tobago the capital of Paradise. On arrival he will begging immigration for a long stay visa and even trying to purchase a piece of land. Welcome to Tobago Humpty only if you recant all the vile things you have been saying about Tobago and you tender a medical certificate from your psychiatrist who will attest to your new state of mind.

Tobago is not safe, stay away, many have been hurt and killed over the years, not one case solved, you hide your criminals, which is also against the law, but on second thought this is tobago a third world country , beautiful but empty.

Anonymous,it appears that you do have a problem with Tobago. Please take it to God in prayer, if you truly love Tobago and wants the best for Tobago. These people are talking about the wonderful time that they had in Tobago, yet you have to find something negative to say. Please think positive for once.

what amazes me, is that people still holiday in Tobago, there is no difference what part of the island you are on, dangers for personal safty should never be far from your mind, when will visitors get it,you are not welcome there, why do you think the building of a hotel is causing such a up roar , your money is what is wanted not the presence of a visit, the locals do not want want you on the island, visitors are robbed and much worse ,there will be more killings and attacks, stay off this henious place.Charlotteville is no different visitors beware, it well could be you next time
