...laundry nears completion

The Scarborough Regional Hospital Laundry Upgrade and Refurbishment Project which is located at E-Teck Indusrial Park, Shaw Park is nearing completion.

Workmen are now engaged in landscaping the grounds and fencing the compound. The Contractor for the Project is Adam's Project Management & Construction Limited of Frederick Settlement Industrial Estate, Trinidad.

This company also constructed the Buccoo Goat Race Facilities. In 2010, the company which was established 12 years ago, was awarded the title of Caribbean Contractor of the Year. According to the signboard, the start of construction was January 2011 and the projected completion date February 2012.

The original Laundry was constructed in the seventies and experienced mechanical problems from time to time.

For more than eight years now, linen from the Hospital transported to Trinidad for washing and ironing. This upgraded facility which should be commissioned with one month, pending power connection from TTEC.

It is expected to take care of all the laundry at the Hospital and improve overall efficiency in its operations.

This is a great acheivement. This facility functionality and operation is a big part of Infectious control. Implementing scheduled maintenance of the equipments is a must. I do not live on my island, but I love it and I'm psyched about this type of advancement.
