Fifteen thousand will be at stake in prize money at the inaugural edition of the youth carnival of youth carnival fiesta. The event is scheduled to come off on Sunday February 2 p.m. at the Gulf City Mall, Lowlands.

According to the promoter of the Fiesta Michael King, "it is designed to showcase the talent of the youth population in various aspects of carnival. The promoter expects "a wealth of anergy at the Youth Fiesta". Junior calypsonians and Junior steelbands, plus soca artistes, the LAJ Family Band, puppets and dancers are expected to participate on the day. A parade of carnival band will help to illuminate the event.

According to King, the competitions at the Fiesta will be in a Teenage Soca Dance Off contest, Freestyle Extempo and Ole Mas Adventure. The promoter emphasised that the Youth Fiesta will be only held in Tobago this year but in 2013, it will be staged both in Trinidad and Tobago.
