Stop the charade, says London

THA Chief Secretary Orville London has said nothing in relationship to self government for Tobago can happen without amendments to the Trinidad and Tobago Constitution and the THA Act.

He explained that the THA Bills approved by the House of Assembly following consultation with the people of Tobago dealt with the Constitution and the Act. "Nothing can happen to change the status quo in Tobago except you amend both the Constitution and the Act that is what happened in 1996."

The Chief Secretary said Tobagonians were intelligent people and he felt the evidence was so clear that no self respecting Tobagonian can help but become very concern about the process that was being forced upon them.

London said: "I want the Attorney General, the TOP and their cohorts to tell the people of Tobago why are we going through this charade when we known that at the end of the exercise nothing can change, we now have to start the process over and go on to get a new Tobago House of Assembly Act when you already have a Constitutional Amendment Bill and a THA Amendment Bill to which you can refer, somebody has to explain that to me since it does not make sense."

London also appealed to Tobagonians to get the correct information on the issue and share it with others.

He said the Assembly has available information on the two Tobago "people's bills" and the Green Paper that were available at the Assembly Legislature in Scarborough and on its website: tha.gov.tt.

Does Mr. London really belive Tobagonians are intelligent people or is he just using / multiplying words without knowledge? In his mind, does that include the opposition to the pnm in Tobago? In the last general election Tobagonians did not vote in favour of the pnm,was that taken into consideration in that statement? Well Mr. Londondon because we are intelligent we will not be taken for a ride nor be blinded your foolishness. You are trying to hoodwink us but remember we are not fools, we are intelligent. Mark your own words........ .

You intelligent? With that sort of comment you have here,it cannot be.When the Chief Sec was referring to intelligent people,he certainly wasn't referring to you.If you take the time to go through AND UNDERSTAND both the Green Paper and the THA Draft Bills and compare them, you won't be making that foolish comment. That GP must NOT be accepted by Tobagonians, especially those who support the TOP.And the reason for this is because their leader promised them FULL AUTONOMY from it,which is a farce.People have to start loving Tobago more than any of their political leaders, who have to die and leave it behind. But love it for the those coming behind us,OUR CHILDREN!Disconnect the chain that is connected from Ashworth Jack's neck(like how we were as slaves) to yours and each other supporter behind, because when he falls over the proverbial cliff,ALL the others connected will also perish out of stupidity. It is UNBELIEVABLE that people are trying to defend this. Did you hear Deborah?

Mr London are you serious about autonomy for Tobago if you are the put an immediate end to the your charade and get down to doing the people of Tobago a service by dismantling the commission to review the Green Paper and your ilegal bills, and the second thing is for you to withdraw the stupid petition advocated by you and encourage your tribes to have their say on the Green Paper.
