SONFEST thrills crowdVictor Laptiste
The 29th Edition of SONFEST Productions which is a key feature of the Easter activities in the calendar of the Christian community in Tobago and beyond turned out to be an outstanding success, said the organisers. Committee Chairman – Johnny Duncan was delighted at the involvement of the youths in all the categories of musical presentations- solos, group songs, instrumentals and musical bands. On Friday and Saturday nights Christopher 'Tambu' Herbert and Saxophonist Michael Dingwell were featured then Keon Duncan and Jamaican Artiste 'Pastor Goddy Goddy' were the headline acts on the final night – Easter Sunday. Local artistes such as the Nancis Family, Keylon Whitlock and Pannist Johnny Duncan himself ensured that the blessings flowed. Pastor Dr Glenroy Frank shared the Word each night as the crowd was reminded of the true significance of Easter. The highlight of this year's presentation was the distribution of Awards in three Categories – Dedicated Service, Recording Achievements and Musical Contribution. |

VERY GOOD TO KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING POSITIVE, THAT CAN KEEP THE YOUTHS FOCUSED and encourage them to develop their talents. This festval can become and international festival if the organisers invite acts from other countries. Then we will not need a second carnival to increase tourism.
