London wishes Manning well

THA Chief Secretary Orville London has extended best wishes for a speedy recovery to former Prime Minister and former political leader of the People's National Movement Patrick Manning.

In a brief statement London said: "On behalf of the Tobago House of Assembly and the people of Tobago I would like to join the rest of the country in extending best wishes to former Prime Minister and former political leader of the People's National Movement, Mr Patrick Manning, wishing him a very speedy recovery from his present ailment.

Manning has had a number of serious challenges in the past and has always been able to recover to a state of normalcy and we really hope that that will be the situation this time. We are aware of his courage, his mental and physical and spiritual courage and we hope that with the grace of God he would be able to recover very swiftly and be able to continue to be of service to his country and the region."

Manning was hospitalised at the San Fernando General Hospital on Monday night with a stroke.
