Tears flowed during the coronation of the first ever Black Rock Majestic Queen pageant, which was organised by the Youth Arm of the Black Rock Action Group of the Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP) last Saturday night.
A large overflowing crowd attended the novel event including both TOP MP's for Tobago east and west Vernella Alleyne-Toppin and Dr Delmon Baker, Minority Leader Ashworth Jack, TOP Assemblymen Orville Jordan, Rolly Quaccoo and Councillor Yvette Parks.
The light-hearted affair proved to be a fiercely contested battle among the 12 lovely young lasses. All the girls gave a good account of themselves as they paraded in their creatively-designed TOP jerseys, performed a variety of talents and answered TOP-based questions. In the end, it was 13-year-old Kinda Stephen of Whim, who captured the coveted crown.
Her prizes include $1000 cash, a Blackberry Smart Phone and six months free CXC lessons sponsored by Jack.
Placing second was Shannon Allard of Whim, while Joselle Vincent of Shirvan Road placed third. Joselle also captured special prizes for the peoples' choice and online voters choice.

The competition is an incentive to these women to know that someone cares and that they are valued and loved.
