Evening of great ambiance

The setting was perfect: majestic white marquee tents beautifully decorated in the chosen green and white colour theme, white cocktail tables and chairs, pan orchestra to one side, tea, juice and hors d'oeuvres on the other, and not forgetting the fashion runway - all set against the cool evening sky at the beautiful grounds of the Chief Secretary in Lowlands.
This was the ambiance provided for an evening of great entertainment, fun and good vibes and the many patrons who turned out to support the venture were truly appreciative of the effort.
It was none other than the Canaan/Bon Accord Methodist Church's annual evening of tea and fashion held under the patronage of Mrs Bridgid London. According to fundraising committee member Ms Lyndy-Anne Parks, this event "is here to stay and with God's continued blessings and guidance, will only get better."
First held in 2010 on a much smaller scale, the fund raising committee expanded on the initiative in an effort to raise much needed funds for the facilitation of the church's outreach programmes. Located on Young Street in Canaan just behind View Port Supermarket, this church was purposed as a community church and so intends to facilitate several life enriching programmes for youngsters and in general the family such as basic computer literacy, steel pan music, a library, and counselling services.
The church would like to thank Mr and Mrs Orville London, Secretary of Community Development and Culture Mrs Tracy Davidson Celestine, The Masters Mindz and all other entertainers, Ms Delia Alleyne and all other designers, Diana Quashie's modelling agency, Checkpoint, Pink Ink, Yolande's Boutique and everyone involved whose generosity and presence made this event possible.
