Former Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister under the last PNM administration, Stanford Callender has said, he like the rest of the country does not know what to believe when it comes to Prime Minister Kamla Bissessar and her government.

Callender said he is in a perplexed state, as it appears that National Security Advisor Gary Griffith and not John Sandy is the real Minister of National Security.

Callender was speaking at a media briefing held by the Tobago Council of the People's National Movement at their Scarborough Office on Tuesday.

The former Tobago-West representative was making reference to the fact that both the Prime Minister and the National Security Minister stated they were unaware of the purchase or lease of a helicopter by the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

Callender, who is also the Chairman of the PNM Tobago West constituency, said that while it may be fair enough that this present crop of government ministers is seeking power, it is rather unfortunate that they are using Tobagonians to achieve their aim. He reiterated that it was the Prime Minister who had disclosed that Tobago was next to capture after she had won the last national elections and the Trinidad local elections.

Using an analogy, the very vocal Callender made a comparison on the UNC led government supported by its coalition partner TOP and its relationship with Tobago and the THA with that of a dog that is trained to suck eggs. Callender said with such a problem, one only has two choices; get rid of either the dog or the eggs.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the PNM Tobago council, Dr. Denise Tsoiafatt Angus remarked that they will support all legal avenues to ensure that Tobagonians get what they deserve and the Council will continue to sensitize the population so that Tobago's issues are given prominence.
