Buccoo committee refutes claims by Murray

The Buccoo Integrated Facility Management Committee (BIFMC) has refuted claims made by former Manager of the Buccoo Integrated Facility Angus Murray that he was fired because he queried the use of the word honourable being used for the Chief Secretary. In a media release issued on Tuesday, the committee disassociated itself from the reasons given for termination of Angus Murray in an article published in last Friday's edition of the Tobago news.

"Mr. Angus Murray was employed for three months and there were several incidents in which Mr. Murray indicated his unwillingness to work under or with a management committee as appointed by the THA," the release stated.

According to the release, Murray was summoned to a meeting to discuss a myriad of issues which surrounded his own modus operandi and the conflict with the committee's overall mandate and objectives. "He dismissed himself from that meeting and the committee decided that given the chronology of unfortunate incidents, it would recommend that a more suitable candidate be considered to achieve the major goals and objectives of the Buccoo Integrated Facility," the release continued.

Murray has threatened to take the THA to court for wrongful dismissal. He described his termination as harsh, oppressive and unwarranted and is demanding close to a $1 million payoff, as the balance of his salary for the contracted period.

No wonder why Long Mango wants the TOP to win the THA elections...Adjacent summed it up. They all have their own interests at heart and not the people of Tobago. The PP wants Tobago for their own self. Long Mango have something to gain personally once or if the TOP wins the THA elections.

When someone comment so strongly in defense of the TOP, I become worried. A Trinidadian that I met on the airport asked me 'out of the blue' about what party I supported. I did not say but he warned me about the top PP investors wanted TOP to win THA elections for their personal interests....On a different note, I heard that Brazil, Mexico and China, their economy is doing better than the USA, Greece and Europe. I have no doubt that Ashworth will bring us closer to First World Status......hahahahahahaha....oh lawd.

If the BIFMC are acting on behalf of the people of Buccoo, I agree with the decision taken. I would comment otherwise if the people of Buccoo were disappointed.

What track record does the TOP have with regards to development of Tobago? Since this PP Gov't came into office, they have nothing for Tobago. The part where you talking about being victimized, check and see how many contract workers in the public service have been laid off or terminated since the PP came into power...isn't that victimization as well. Look at how many mistakes this Gov't has made since they entered into office. Don't you not think people are taking note of that? Look at how many radio announcers getting pulled off the air the minute they criticize the PP Gov't. Isn't that victimization too? The road to hell is always paved with so called 'good intentions'.

The reasons are for a better Tobago, where people like you is free to share you opinions without been victimized. Tobago will be a producer of peppers, dasheen bush, ochroes and so on, no longer will there a need to import from Trinidad.Under Mr Ashworth leadership we will change history of been the only place on the planet where there is the highest rate of amputation of limbs. Think of the socio/economic cost of an amputation on the family and the Government budget. And the most important development move will be the constitutional reform for the Island which will remove the majority of issues that stand in the way of good governance.

What is your ulterior motive for pushing Ashworth and TOP to run everything in Tobago? Clearly, there are people who will be singing for their supper. It is important that the PNM is out of office so that they could go in and grab whatever they could grab. Tobagonians will vote for the PP/TOP up until 2015. They will change their minds once they see the licks coming to them left right and center. All this rubbish talk about PNM pain, that not helping your efforts. When the TOP start to put the pressure and heat on allyuh, yuh go regret voting for this Gov't. And don't bother quoting Bible for us, because they way I see it, apparently somebody sided with the devil to win 29 seats....I done talk.

Desuperman, you should take your information to the Integrity commission,ah wonder how long ago did you become aware of this,is it evidence or information. Boy ah wish there were more industrious high achievers as Mr Ashworth Jack and Hochoy great forward looking, creative and innovative leaders .When the PNM LEAVE office in 2012 or 2013 you will no longer be able to sing for your supper.Desuperman did you attend an interview for the work you do,and secondly you must know that Jealousy is a sin you could ask Mr Mt Plesant.

Before Assworth could become "Chief Sec'", he first has to account to the people where did he "accumulate" his wealth from to be able to build a house worth millions, when ALL the money he worked for in his lifetime CANNOT give him what he now has, which is a million dollar house, luxury vehicle and 10 acres of land in Belmont Rd shared up between him and Hochoy (hence the reason the Belmont Rd was developed, for their easier access) plus other real estate property. These men, along with Warner (of Warner Brothers) made mass while in office and it's no wonder that Assworth and Warner are neighbours up in Green Hill where the Mansion is. Anyone one who has NO PROBLEM with this, just don't have a care about accountability, integrity, or transparency. They are prepared to turn their heads the other way, pretending they don't see. This is who they want to ascend to "High Office"? They will criticize the PNM for these things but accept them under any other party, HYPOCRITES!!!

Hey "Andy" this guy is a clown who hardly ever know of what he speaks. I don't know who tell "Mango" that a boat was bought for (specifically) for the Castara fishermen. It is because of their fish brains and "political interference" form the TOP activists in the area why all the bacchanal over this fishing boat issue. The THA was not BOUND to give the boat to the Castara fishermen to run. So what do they owe them? They didn't HAVE to hire the guy Murray to run the Buccoo facilities either, but it is so easy to link everything as political victimization, when ever it suits them. The court will determine if Murray was "politically victimized" as these fools are claiming. That is where the truth will come out. Tell them to ask Hochoy and Ashworth how many people who were known to be PNM were hired under their regime it was a hate galore during those times and that is why this buffoon ("Mango")wants the PNM out. There is NO OTHER sensible, reasonable, logical or justified need for such.

Tobago will advance in ways never experience before,a Top Assembly will get rid of the PNM pain. ANDY YOU FEELING SO MUCH PAIN TO THE EXTENT THAT YOU HAVE ACCEPTED IT AS A WAY OF LIFE let me tell you that PNM pain is not normal so what do you think?

You talk about pain this is pain nothing could be worse than a PNM pain.Tobago people could you all remember the fishing boat Capital of Paradise that was bought for some fishermen from Castara but the greed of the PNM officials has destroyed the lives of the fishermen,so as of now we have not been told where is the boat that was purchased with tax payers $$$$$. So the action of the PNM Buccoo management committee is not strange, you must also conider the persecution and discrimination given to any member or supporter of any other political party to the PNM. PAIN ,PAIN,PAIN ah feeling the Pnm PAIN WOULD SOMEBODY help ah kar take it no more ah weak ah need ah release. HELP, HELP, HELP. Mr London are you hearing the cries, so call the redemption date.

The dismissal letter Mr. Murray got, didn't appear to state why his contract was terminated. We didn't see all these issues in the previous news article, so in my opinion, something is not adding up. I won't be surprised if this Committee recommends the position to their family, relatives and close friends. The nature of a contractual employment relationship needs some serious amendments in our legislation. Currently, as it stands, employers in T&T could readily take advantage of workers in any form or fashion without re-dress. To me, the whole relationship seems one-sided with little or no re-dress for workers, especially when they get fired. We need to consider making amendments because right now, there are a lot of disgruntled workers in T&T who are considering leaving our shores to go work elsewhere. We must strive to keep our professionals in T&T. Not bark and frustrate them to the extent where they want to leave....steups.

From what could be gleemed so far it would appear that the committee was not duly appointed with the necessary instruments thereby giving legitimacy to their decision making process. Any goes cannot be business as usual in this age. Come on lets get the true facts. A professional being appointed for only 3 months. Come on.

In my view, this reeks:"he dismissed himself from that meeting and the committee decided that given the chronology of unfortunate incidents,it would recommend that a more suitable candidate be considered to achieve the major goals and objectives of the Buccoo Integrated Facility." Folks, the phrase 'a more suitable candidate'is loaded and fully coded. In short and to decode,it means a yes-man,an automaton or a useful idiot is preferred, for this position. One who questions nothing, functions thoughtlessly as told, from above, and when summoned to jump, shouldn't ask why,but instead should only ask how high to jump. Of course this would be vehemently denied.

This is a call for transperancy on behalf of the people of Tobago, Buccoo, and Trinidad we need to see how the public funds are allocated. The Management Committee, please give detail account of:"surrounded his own modus operandi and the conflict with the committee's overall mandate and objectives". Is the committee legal within the constitution of the laws of Trinidad and Tobago or are they a watch dog for the big boys to do the ground work for dishonesty?

This is not true, nothing in this article is of substance and the THA set out to decieve the people of Trinidad and Tobago. The committee needs to presents facts and evidence. This is a weak defense statement. Why did the dismissal letter never stated this? I have evidence of correspondence between Mr. Muray and the Chairman where he requested documentation, and appointment of instruments of the committee to-date none of these documents were presented. Please make no mistake about it public funds are involve.
