All Stars Kaiso Tent opens Saturday

Tobago All Stars Calypso Tent will swing open its doors this Saturday at 8.30 p.m. at the Mid Point Bar Canaan (formerly Greenlight). The Tent will showcase a highly entertaining programme.

Marvin Lewis, who along with his brother Nigel rocked the nation to capture the 1996 road march with 'Movin' will headline the Tent along with Five Times Tobago Monarch Tobago Rio. Marvin has moved back to his home base in Tobago and has been whipping up a storm with his performances on the Tobago entertainment circuit. He is expected to render his past hits plus new releases at the Tent shows.

Tobago Rio has established a reputation as one of the most genuine composers of calypso music and his clever lyrics have entertained Tobagonians for many years. His 2012 release on happenings during the last State of Emergency is sure to raise eyebrows when he performs the song.

Also in the Tent is former Inter-Department Monarch Jerry Combie. He is without doubt, the most witty composer in Tobago and added to his new releases, Combie will also render his rib hits tickling hits 'Goodwood Taxi Driver' and 'Town Service'.

Dave Sampson from Moriah is an established big stage performer and this year his song 'Man Needs to Grow Up' composed by GB could carry him places in competitions during the season. Dave is also expected to perform his hit soca hit 'Ivan'.

Super Black from Goodwood has developed a reputation of being able to pattern songs in the likes of Shadow and Kitchener. This year he has chosen to sing about a recent encounter he had with the departed calypso great Lord Kitchener.

Jude Hurdle is a super talented musician and composer and an entertainer of good repute and his big song on the 'The Tobago Situation' is one of the most searching calypso commentaries on the Tobago issue for the season.

Shamika Denoon is one of the best female calypso singers in Tobago and she will prove why she is so highly rated. She has made it to national calypso monarch semifinals.

Cheva is arguably the leading female calypso composers in Tobago and the quality of her work will surely be appreciated by all who visit the All Stars Calypso Tent.

Shuntelle is the reigning Tobago Inter-Department Calypso Monarch and her dynamic stage presence will be a plus for the show.
