Thomas shines in 'Clinton Sammy'

Thomas won three titles to make it his most successful stint in any competition ever. The Canaan/Bon Accord bodybuilder who recently became eligible to compete in the Masters Division walked away with that title, then made light work of the opposition in the lightweight Open Class and crowned off his performance by capturing the overall title in the pose-down.

Also competing from the FX Gym was Garfield Edwards who triumphed in the light heavyweight class.

Thomas was selected for National duty for the recently hosted World Bodybuilding Championships in Quatar, Asia but missed the opportunity because he did not receive the promised funds he desperately needed to make the trip though his air transport and accommodation was being taken care of by the National Bodybuilding Federation.

Thomas told the Tobago News that Sports Director Theophilus Trim really tried to assist but was unsuccessful.

He added that he was very, very disappointed with the situation because this was his opportunity to receive a world ranking which would have propel him into the professional ranks and could have changed his status as a bodybuilder.
